Non è semplice scrivere di una personalità così eclettica come quella di John Zorn. Quelli che l’hanno fatto hanno dovuto superare parecchie difficoltà, tra le quali la principale è quella di presentare un esauriente quadro stilistico e discografico del musicista. C’è poi un ramo della sua musica che è strettamente vincolata alle stagioni del post-modernismo musicale dei settanta/ottanta,
