A live, free improvising set on a hot, humid night in late July at the 2024 edition of the Austrian Konfrontationen Nickelsdorf festival. On stage were German master pianist-composer Georg Graewe with the American elite rhythm section of double bass player Brad Jones and drummer Hamid Drake, who has collaborated with Graewe since the mid-nineties (mainly in Graewe Quartet with German reed player Frank Gratkowski and American double bass player Kent Kessler). Jones and Drake are the rhythm section of American sax hero David Murray’s new Brave New World Trio and keyboard wizard Jamie Saft’s bands. This was Graewew’s first set with Joines.
