…and discovering fishes that have their own light documents a live, free improvised and cross-generational meeting of Argentinian, Switzerland-based cellist Paula Sanchez, who studied her Master’s degree in Contemporary Arts Practice at the Basel University of Music, and free improvisation with guitarist Fred Frith, cellist Alfred Zimmerlin, and pianist Katharina Weber, with Weber at the Zoom In festival for improvised and experimental music in Bern in October 2024.
Weber retired from teaching at the Bern University of the Arts and the Bern Conservatory in 2023 and devotes her time to composing and performing in free improvisation. Sanchez and Weber became friends during Sanchez’ studies. They played together in various formations, including with Frith and
