Forrest Moody – at eventide

Forest Moody is an American composer-pianist, currently based in Graz, where he has studied composition with Klaus Lang and Franck Bedrossian. He focuses on the poetic as well as political dimensions of music-making and listening, primarily through a preoccupation with pitch/harmony and form/time.

The 71-minute at eventide (2025), for solo piano, played by Moody, and recorded at Großer Minoritensaal in Graz in April 2025, is Moody, longest and most challenging work to date, and the first release of him playing his music (American pianist Jack Yarbrough recorded Moody’s abgeewigte linie, Sawyer Editions, 2022). It is also the first release of the Graz-based murmurs label for contemporary sounds.
