Yvann Etienne is a French sound artist who calls his works sound “things”. He uses electronics, phonography, analog synths, and the hurdy-gurdy. He demands from his listeners an active, attentive listening that stimulates and questions their physical perception, or memory of real or imaginary sound spaces. Etienne teaches at HEAR – Haute école des arts du Rhin in Strasbourg and edits Ohcetecho, a series of experimental music/sound art books.
Les Météores du Coeur (The Meteors of the Heart) is framed – or inspired – by the painting of Japanese, Brussels-based visual artist Chisato Ishiyama, captured in its inner sleeve.
