French experimental, self-taught soprano and sopranino sax player Michel Doneda (b. 1954, often called a preacher of sound action) and hyper-pianist Frédéric Blondy (b. 1973, the founder of Onceim – Orchestre de Nouvelles Créations, Expérimentations et Improvisations Musicales, who has studied mathematics and physics) have been collaborating as a duo and in other formats for about twenty years, and have recorded two albums as a trio with the late Japanese double bass master Tetsu Saitoh. Points of Convergences is their first duo (double) album, recorded live at Église Saint-Merry, in the heart of Paris, in June 2014, and finally, the American label Relative Pitch does justice with this beautiful, poetic recording. Augustin Muller (who recorded before a few albums of Blondy) did the recording and mixing, and faithfully preserved its richness and depth.
