Abstract Forest documents an American, Boston area-based experimental string trio featuring free music guitarist and conceptualist and educator Joe Morris (who celebrated his 70th birthday this September, and is is also a double bass player and drummer) with friends – cellist Brad Barrett (who is also a double bass player and has already recorded Seven albums with Morris since 2017), and young double bass player Beth Ann Jones, in her first recording session with Morris. The album was recorded at Dimension Sound in Jamaica Plain in January 2025. Morris produced the album and took the cover photo.
