HobbyHouse is the debut, self-titled album by the Berlin-based duo of Danish alto sax player Mia Dyberg and Argentinian drummer Axel Filip, who have been working together since 2022. The album was recorded at Green Doors in Berlin in August 2024.
Both Dyberg and Filip are experienced and resourceful improvisers and bandleaders who are rooted in free jazz and free improvised music. HobbyHouse acts as an exploratory sonic lab that explores a variety of sonic architectures and playgrounds, with a great focus on timbral nuance and variation, spontaneity, and storytelling, often with extended breathing,
