The Spontaneous Live Series is a series of mostly ad-hoc free improvised meetings performed during the Spontaneous Music Festival at Dragon Social Club in Poznan, Poland. The 16th volume of this series features the Belgian, Berlin-based hyper-pianist Anaïs Tuerlinckx, who plays the prepared piano, in two extended duos. The first is with German, Cologne-based alto sax player Jonas Engel, and the second is with Austrian, Berlin-based sound artist Andrea Emke on mini discs and samples. Both were recorded during the Call and Response 8th Spontaneous Music Festival in October 2024. True to the DIY ethos of the series, the album was mixed by Tuerlinckx, mastered by Danish double bass player Asger Thomsen (who has played in this series), and its cover artwork was designed by Polish pianist Witold Oleszak (who also plays in this series).
