Masaya Kato is a Japanese, Yokohama-based sound artist and composer, influenced by poetry, video, and performing arts. His work focuses on perception and cutaneous senses in daily life. He also plays electric guitar and sings in the improvising outfit graph with Shizuka.
Glass Anthimeria was created as a sound installation for the 2024 solo exhibition of glass artist Mayuko Ogawa at the Dowel art gallery in Tokyo in December 2024. Ogawa describes his art as “creating something that feels sometimes as a prayer, and moments in daily life when the mind suddenly becomes quiet”. She reimagines glass not merely as a surface, but as space: layers of translucence, texture, and light composing forms that feel both intimate and expansive.
