A Far Within brings together a new trio of idiosyncratic, fearless improvisers – Chilean, London-based cellist Isidora Edwards, whose work investigates sound, the acoustic, amplified, and processed cello and electronics to explore how time and listening open spaces of freedom and pleasure; Bulgarian, Berlin-based violinist Biliana Voutchkova, who explores states of spontaneity and intuitive resonance between her inner world and sound space embodied in her multifaceted activities. She has performed before with Edwards in a trio with British guitarist John Russell, and Swiss-Swedish double bass master Nina de Heney; and American, New York-based hardanger d’amore (a 10-stringed violin with five sympathetic strings) player Zosha Warpeha, who works in a meditative space at the intersection of contemporary improvisation and folk traditions.
