Tomaž Grom is a Slovenian, Ljubljana-based double bass player, improviser, sound artist, author, experimental filmmaker, and the founder and artistic director of Zavod Sploh. He understands music as a medium of communication rather than aesthetic pleasure. For him, music is a form of research, seeking unanswered questions, the flow of ideas, and unpredictable situations. He thinks of composition as improvisation, and improvisation offers him space to lose himself, to make mistakes, and to search for original and intriguing solutions.

His latest work, KO BO (when will, in Slovenian), was conceived as a multichannel electroacoustic composition intended for listening in a completely darkened space. Grom created it out of an experience of transience, passing, disappearance, absence, and searching—above all from an awareness of the uncertainty
