Anna Piosik is a Polish trumpeter and vocalist (and ceramics artist), now dividing her time between Lisbon and the village of Alfafar, surrounded by a native forest, where she is part of the cultural association O Lugar do Meio, dedicated to artistic research. Piosik is part of the experimental all-female ensemble Lantana, which released a highly acclaimed album, Elemental (Cipsela, 2022), and collaborated with Ernesto Rodrigues’ ensembles. She said that she found the “Portugal of her soul” through improvisation.
