Ernesto & Guilherme Rodrigues in Nickelsdorf and Berlin

Nickelsdorf is the second album of the free improvising quintet of Portuguese violist Ernesto Rodrigues (the head of Creative Sources label), his son and close collaborator, Berlin-based cellist Guilherme Rodrigues, and their long-time comrade, alto sax player Nuno Torres, with legendary German pianist Alexander von Schlippenbach, and drummer-percussionist Willi Kellers, following the studio recording Conundrum (Creative Sources, 2023). The album was recorded in its first-ever live performance at the 45th edition of the Konfrontationen festival in Nickelsdorf in July 2025. The quintet thanks the Konfrontationen festival founder and artistic director, Hans Falb, who passed away five months after the performance.
