XATARATA is the duo of Polish, Kraków-based baritone sax player Paulina Owczarek and Costa Rica-Born, York-based sound artist and live-electronics player Federico Reuben (and a Lecturer in Music Technology at The University of York), exploring the intersection of freely improvised music with cutting-edge laptop music incorporating live coding and processing, interactive systems, and algorithmic music.
Owczarek has recorded with French drummer Peter Orins (of KAZE) and his trio TOC, and is a member of Kraków Improvisers Orchestra. Reuben has collaborated with British improvisers like John Edwards, Alexander Hawkins, Dominic Lash, and Rachel Musson.
