Last Breath’s City Looks Kind Heart documents the Berlin-based experimental, electroacoustic, and free improvising duo of clarinetist Michael Thieke (of The International Nothing duo, Magda Mayas’ Filamental, The Magic I.D. quartet, and Splitter Orchester) and feedback electric guitarist Beat Keller (a sound engineer who mixed and mastered this album, who often works in duo settings with Joke Lanz, Saadet Türköz, Axel Dörner, and Kazuhisa Uchihashi). It was recorded at Room Q-141 in Berlin in March 2024 and released by the Japanese label Ftarri, which specializes in free improvised, minimalist, or reductionist duo formats. Ftarri – ふたり- means two persons in Japanese.
