Perlonex is the German, Berlin-based, long-standing experimental, electroacoustic trio of prolific Ignaz Schick on turntables and samplers (who is also an alto and baritone sax player, conceptual and visual artist, and the head of the Zarek label), Jörg Maria Zeger on electric guitar and effects, and percussionist Burkhard Beins (of Polwechsel and Sawt Out, who also took the cover photo and mixed the album). This free improvising, working trio was formed in late 1998 and has performed, recorded, and toured extensively through numerous countries. Over the years, Perlonex has created a unique blend of styles, settling somewhere in the no man’s land between electroacoustic free improvisation, industrial noise, ambient, minimalism, and often incorporating elements of psychedelic music.
