Amalie Dahl is a Danish, Oslo-based alto sax player, composer, and bandleader, who plays with Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (Exit) Knarr, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, and the free improvising trios Treen and Dahl/Dalen/Søvik. She leads her own, Oslo-based free jazz quintet Dafnie, which references both old school, free jazz and modern contemporary reed-led bands, with trumpeter Oscar Andreas Haug, trombonist Jørgen Bjelkerud, double bass player Nicolas Leirtrø, and drummer-percussionist Veslemøy Narvesen.
The double album Live at Moldejazz is Dafnie’s third album. It features an extended 12-member ensemble in its first-ever performance at the Teatret vårt during the Moldejazz festival in July 2025.
