Charles K. Noyes (CKN) is an American, Pennsylvania-based experimental and innovative percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, improviser, and composer who worked with New York’s downtown avant-rock bands like Bill Laswell’s Material, The Golden Palominos, and Elliott Sharp’s Carbon in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as later on with many dance, circus, theatre, and film productions. CKN’s long-time comrade, Sharp, who released CKN’s new solo album, Blue All, describes this album as “extraordinary sonic extrapolations and landscapes in the tradition of Iannis Xenakis and Edgard Varèse realized on electric guitars and electronics”.
CKN recorded the nine pieces between 2022 and 2025, direct to stereo (with no overdubs) at his own Shohola-based Shoholamatic Studio in Pennsylvania, and he took the cover photos. The album was mastered by another
