American trumpeter and composer Frank London is a musical polymath. He is the co-founder of the klezmer ensemble The Klezmatics, composer of operas and symphonies, and a musician who has worked with John Zorn, Lester Bowie, La Monte young, David Byrne, Pink Floyd, LL Cool J, and They Might Be Giants.
London’s latest musical adventure is one of his most experimental to date, an ‘electronics’ trio, as all musicians use electronics, with likewise experienced and resourceful improvisers and sonic searchers who have been exploring the nexus between acoustic and electronic music for decades – guitarist Knox Chandler, who comes from New York’s post-punk and new wave scene and has worked with The Golden Palomino, The Psychedelic Furs, Siouxsie & The Banshees, and R.E.M. and has developed a sound-scaping technique he calls Soundribbons, and tubaist Ben Stapp, who combines avant-garde and traditional sounds with abstract narrative arriving at something truly his own.
