Jonas Gerigk is a German double bass player and improviser who keeps expanding the sonic palette of the double bass as well as his own vocabulary with extended bowing and percussive techniques, objects and preparations. British, Berlin-based baritone sax player and multidisciplinary improviser Simon Rose is also an independent researcher and author focusing on creative processes. His latest book, Relational Improvisation Music, Dance and Contemporary Art, was published by Routledge in 2024.
On Angel Hill is the second free improvised duo album of Gerigk and Rose, following ODE and AIR (Ma, 25), since they began collaborating in Gerigk’s hometown, Pohrsdorf bei Dresden, in January 2024. The album was recorded at Bergkirche Tharandt in March
