American, innovative, and virtuoso accordionist-composer Guy Klucevsek (b.1947) passed away on May 22, 2025. He was known for transforming and pushing the accordion’s sonic palette as a leading instrument into the worlds of contemporary and experimental music, Film, dance, and theater, his inclusive repertoire for the accordion, including commissioned works by John Zorn, Fred Frith, and Somei Satoh, and wide-ranging collaborations. Klucevsek was a dear friend of fellow innovative, virtuoso accordionist William Schimmel (b.1946) and polymath Elliott Sharp (b. 1951), whose work also ranges across many genres, styles, and collaborations. Schimmel and Sharp, who have collaborated closely in the last decade, dedicate The World Is A Pleated Bellows to Klucevsek.
Sharp and Schimmel took
