Noche y Niebla (Night and Fog) is an exploratory, cross-generational collaboration between Argentine tenor and soprano sax player Luis Nacht, an essential figure in Argentine jazz, and Argentine, Berlin-based, prolific free improviser Camila Nebbia, representing two temporal and aesthetic lineages. The album’s title is a word play on Nacht’s name (night, in German) and Nebbia’s name (fog, in Italian), symbolising the album’s elusive spirit that reflects the tension between the darkness of intuition and the indeterminacy of form.
Nacht and Nebbia have played together occasionally in the last decade and established a deep musical understanding that brings improvisation to a profound conceptual level. The album was recorded at Studio Dias Perfectos in Buenos Aires, with double bass player Jerónimo Carmona, a collaborator of Nacht
