Italian Alessandro Ciccarelli is a trombonist and electronics player who describes himself as an “organizer of sounds”. In recent years, he has focused his research primarily on open and aleatoric forms, improvisation in electronic and electroacoustic music. Arianna Granieri is a pianist and an improviser with a repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary music. She focuses on emotional communication and the listener’s involvement as integral to the performance.
Ciccarelli and Granieri are part of the Italian experimental contemporary music ensemble, XYZ Ensemble, which focuses on improvisation. OLO is their debut four-hands duo album, on which both play on a prepared grand piano, with Ciccarelli
