Playgrounds is the seconds, but actually the first album of the trio of highly experienced free improvisers – Swedish, Copenhagen-based alto sax and “clarinet parts” player Sture Ericson (who has collaborated with such innovative improvisers as Derek Bailey, Otomo Yoshihide, Paul Lovens, Phil Minton, Johannes Bauer, and John Butcher); Swedish, Heby-based drummer Raymond Strid (of GUSH and Barry Guy New Orchestra, who plays with Ericson in The Eclecrtics quartet); and British singular pianist Pat Thomas (of أحمد [Ahmed], who also collaborated with Bailey and Butcher). The official first album of this trio called Bagman was recorded live at London’s Cafe OTO in September 2019 (Bagman Live at Cafe OTO, 577, 2022).
