Nevers is the debut album of the duo of Australian, Berlin-based guzheng (the traditional Chinese plucked zither) player Clare Cooper and French Jean-Philippe Gross, who plays homemade electronics. Gross also released the duo’s debut album, Berlin, on his own label Eich. Nevers was formed in 2007 with an ethos: an acoustic-electro-acoustic dialogue, meticulously crafted for deep listening.

Cooper is an interdisciplinary design researcher, lecturer, and consultant, and an organiser of cultural events. She has collaborated with the Australian Splinter Orchestra and the Berlin-based Splitter Orchester, and played in John Butcher’s Octet. Her sound is inspired by synthesizers and broken boom boxes.
