Magda Mayas is a Berlin-based hyper-pianist and composer who has redefined the sonic palette of the piano with a highly personal and innovative vocabulary that explores both the interior and exterior of the instrument. She employs amplification, preparations, and objects that serve as extensions of the piano itself, and expands the language of playing inside the piano. Mayas holds a PhD in Music Performance and Interpretation from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She is a professor and researcher at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
