Jo David Meyer Lysne is a Norwegian experimental composer, bassist, guitarist, and instrument builder, based in Gvarv, in the Norwegian county of Telemark. He is interested in robotics, kinetic sculptures, unconventional tuning systems, and acoustic performance. He produces works that consider our relationship to sound, self-built tools and instruments in the service of microtonal ends, and challenges the way we listen, process, and perceive music and sounds. His recent projects involved cellist Amalie Stalheim, contemporary ensembles Aksiom and Ensemble neoN, the experimental violin and bass duo Vilda&Inga, and experimental microtonal tubist Peder Simonsen. He has worked before with the electro-acoustic trio Splashgirl and collaborated with Nils Petter Molvær, Mariam The Believer, and Jenny Hval.
