Instante gives new meaning to the immediate, spontaneous improvisations that transform into instant compositions. It features a new trio formed by Portuguese, Lisbon-based sax hero and composer José Lencastre (who plays here on alto and tenor saxes, and took the cover photo), who works in modern jazz and free improvisation fields; Spanish, Barcelona-based classically-trained pianist, improviser, and composer Clara Lai, who explores the subtle bridges between improvisation and composition; and Catalan, Barcelona-based electronics player Àlex Reviriego, known as the double bass player of the Phicus and the Liba Villavecchia Trios, but also an experimental sound artist and the founder of his experimental label, Hera Corp.
