The London Experimental Ensemble is known for its challenging, multidisciplinary projects. The Ensemble has performed all 193 pages of Cornelius Cardew’s Treatise graphic score for its debut album (Split Rock, 2018); interpreted views of the Earth as an evolving graphical score as seen from the Inernational Space Station (Self-Released, 2020); interpreted traditional ballads from England and Scotland, and their American variants, anthologized by Francis James Child, with singer-songwriter Richard Thompson (Don Giovanni, 2023); and offered a meta-narrative telling the story of the story of Welsh writer and filmmaker Iain Sinclair in Dark Before Dark (577, 2024) about the imaginary 25-year journey of a whalebone box.

This multi-cultural, free improvising Ensemble is run by American (with Norwegian roots), London-based, dobro and lap steel player Ed Pettersen,
