Agile Opium Serpents is the alias of Barcelona-based experimental drummer, percussionist, sound artist, composer, and the head of the Blu-Rei label Pere Xirau, often associated with the reductive aesthetics of the Japanese experimental label Ftarri.
Shedding is Xirau’s 33-minute sound-oriented composition for Chinese experimental violinist (and DJ and producer) Xiang, Catalan, Barcelona-based experimental double bass player (and sound artist, and the head of the experimental label Hera Corp) Àlex Reviriego (of Phicus and Liba Villavecchia Trio), and Xirau, who whistled long notes and played sine waves. Ftarri’s sub-label Meena released this album.
