Three European experimental, idiosyncratic improvisers form a trio inspired by the chamber, introspective sound of the late-fifties, seminal trio of American visionary reed player Jimmy Giuffre, with guitarist Jim Hall and trombonist Bob Brookmeyer. Lithuanian reed player Liudas Mockūnas (who plays here on clarinet and soprano, tenor and bass saxophones), Swiss trombonist Samuel Blaser (whose quartet album, Spring Rain, paid tribute to Giuffre’s trio with Paul Bley and Steve Swallow, Whirlwind, 2015), and French guitarist Marc Ducret (who recorded a duo album with Mockūnas and has a trio with Blaser and Danish drummer Peter Bruun) offer six original compositions, recorded live, direct to analogue tape, with no edits or overdubs, at Riga Recording Studio in Latvia in December 2023
