Julia Biłat is a Polish, Berlin-based, classically trained cellist working at the intersection of improvisation, composition and performance. In her solo work, she expands the instrument through voice, body and movement, developing intense musical forms in which sound and performative presence become inseparable. Biłat participates in various classical, jazz, free improvisation and performance projects like Stegreif Orchester, Camila Nebbia’s The Hanged One, Trickster Orchestra, and Fabiana Striffler’s Archiotic Quintet.
