Matthew Wright is a British, Kent-based composer, producer and sound designer, a co-founder of Trance Map with legendary sax player Evan Parker, and the founder of his own Spheric Totemic ensemble, which fuses influences from electronic, improvised and contemporary classical music.
Wright’s 46-minute composition, Cracked Glaze, was commissioned by the Dutch contemporary Ensemble Klang for their Musical Utopias festival in 2024. The composition’s title refers to the barst glazuur (cracked glaze) collection in the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, which Wright visited many times.
