American, Lucerne-based master drummer, percussionist, vocalist, and composer Gerry Hemingway taught percussion, improvisation, composition, songwriting, and history at the Hochschule Luzern until 2022. The Bau 4 art center in Altbüron is located near Lucerne, in a family-run timber company, and serves as a venue for creative music concerts. It was run by Hildegard and Walter Schär, who decided in 2025, after opening the Bau 4 twenty years before, to hand it over to the next generation.
