Carl Ludwig Hübsch is a German, Cologne-based self-taught tubaist, vocal artist, drummer, improviser, and composer who focuses on music as a form that emerges in real-time and its organic, constantly changing dramaturgy or structure. Ignaz Schick is a fellow German, Berlin-based sound artist, improviser, composer, visual artist, and the head of the online Zarek label, who plays on turntables, objects, samplers, live electronics, alto saxophone, and flutes.
The ever-experimental Hübsch and Schick first collaborated in the summer of 2022 when they improvised at Hübsch’s estate in Cologne (aka busy bird studio), limiting themselves to their novel sound sources: Hübsch’s extended vocals and Schick’s voltage-controlled sampler.
